Amerie Rogers (born January 12, 1978), known professionally as Amerie, is an African/Korean-American R&B singer/songwriter. She is signed to Sony Urban/Columbia Records. Amerie has released three albums, her debut album "All I Have" received high critical acclaim, and was considered one of the best albums of 2002, however after releasing three singles "Why Don't We Fall In Love", "Got To Be There", And "Talkin' To Me", each failing to reach Top 10, she was soon forgotten. However in 2005, Amerie burst back onto the music scene with her 4th single "One Thing", which was used as the theme song for the movie "Hitch". "One Thing" went to Number 1 across the world, including the US, UK & Ireland.
